Abney Park inspiriertes Rollenspiel
Musik inspiriert das kann ich sagen! Fans der Steampunk-Band Abney Park dürfen sich auf ein neues Rollenspiel freuen das auf den Texten der Band beruht. Als Rollenspielsystem kommt die Heresy Engine zum Einsatz die auch schon in Victoriana 2nd Edition aus dem Haus Cubicle 7 benutzt wird. Warum wundert mich das nun nicht das Cubicle 7 da wieder mitmischt? Ich bin mit der Musik von Abney Park nicht wirklich vertraut aber zum Rollenspiel heißt es:

Mir gefällt die Kusik von Abney Park sehr. Wer rein schauen will findet sowohl auf YouTube sowie Myspace einige Lieder von ihnen.
Jedoch muss man darauf achten welche Alben man heranzieht, nur die letzten drei (Lost Horizons (2008), Aether Shanties (2009) & # The End of Days (2010)) gehören zu ihrer Steampunk Epoche.
Mir gefällt das wenige was bisher über das Spiel bekannt ist, die Musik sowieso, das System ebenfalls. Ich kann den August kaum erwarten 🙂
Das Spiel beschränkt sich nicht auf die letzten drei Alben, sondern bezieht alle Alben mit ein. Abney Park war eine Gothic Band bevor sie sich dem Steampunk zu wandten.
Hast du ein Beispiel woran du das festmachst? In der Bekanntmachung heist es „Based on the music of renowned steampunk band Abney Park and the tales of „Captain“ Robert Brown“ und soweit ich herausbekommen habe handeln eben die letzten drei Alben vom Captain und seiner Crew und sind eben auch die Steampunk Alben. Auch alle anderen Fakten und Andeutungen die auf der Seite zu finden sind haben meiner Meinung nach einen Bezug auf eines der Lieder aus den drei Alben.

Jau. Ich habe da so ein paar Hinweise:
Die erwähnt Change Cage ist vom Album „Taxidermy“.
Dann aus Captain Roberts Blog: „This will be roughly 30 chapters, and ties together almost all of the Abney Park songs, the lyrics or which will be in the book as well. In fact, to some extent the book is a continuned tale, started with Lost Horizons, continued through Aether Shanties, and on in to the next album.“
Einerseits redet er von „almost all of the Abney Park Songs“, andererseits erwähnt er dann nur die drei Steampunk Alben… bin doch nicht mehr so sicher…
Thematisch der schwächere Beweis: auch die Lieder von „Death of Tragedy“ würden gut zum Thema passen. Bin gespannt…
