Reality Blurs & Savage Worlds Deluxe

I’ve had an opportunity to read through Savage Worlds Deluxe and I really enjoy it. I can’t say much more than that, but am certain you’ll find a lot to love within the pages. As the oldest and longest running licensee, I wholeheartedly endorse it. It’s given me a second wind and a renewed level of enthusiasm.

We have two settings quite close to completion. As such, we’ll be making certain Agents of Oblivion and Ravaged Earth Second Edition are completely compatible with the new rules.

Interestingly, I had been toying with the idea of revamping RunePunk about a month before Pinnacle mentioned Savage World Deluxe and I’ve been toying with changes I’d want to implement in a new edition of RunePunk. I’ve already made notes on race revisions and I want to add a few new races and I want to explore some other aspects of the setting a bit more, but it’s not making any of the material obsolete. My first steps involve revising the Player’s Guide to the current rules set and adding in a bunch of things I was ill-equipped to handle mechanically at the time. For example, I can see integrating some of the martial arts rules into the setting (something I had always wanted the ferren to have but couldn’t quite finesse properly all those years ago) and I’d like to do other things like make chemists a base arcane background and borrow some of the invention rules from Iron Dynasty for more balance. I can’t say exactly when any of this will go into effect, but the five year anniversary of RunePunk is this October. It’d be nice if the Player’s Guide was available by then.

I don’t want the remaining copies of RunePunk: Steam and Shadow to just gather dust, however, so one thing I am planning on doing is writing an entirely new plot point for the setting. This means, realistically, physical copies of the revised RunePunk would come out about a year or so from now, if you consider I still need to continue work on support materials and get Echo of Dead Leaves for Realms of Cthulhu wrapped.

What do you think about my plan? What would you like to see in a revised edition of RunePunk?

Until next time, I bid you, dear reader, adieu!
