ello and welcome to the July newsletter from Black Industries, giving you all the latest inside information and gossip about upcoming products for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay and the lavish new edition of Talisman.

2007 WARHAMMER FANTASY ROLEPLAY SCENARIO COMPETITION
We’re looking for another bunch of exciting scnearios to add to our Scenarios Page and so we have decided to hold a WFRP Scenario Competition for the 3rd year running. Due to the time it takes to administer the competition this year we are strictly limiting the number of places, so only 20 people will be asked to write full scenarios based on their synopses. There will be a separate category for BI contributors as usual, though they will not be eligible for the top prize.

CHARACTERS FROM THE CALIXIS SECTOR
We thought we’d show off some of the character vignettes that have been produced for Dark Heresy by David Gallagher in order to whet your appetites for the sort of artwork you can expect to see in Dark Heresy when it is finally released next year.

These could be used by GMs and players to inspire them with ideas for PCs or NPCs. Whilst beginning characters may not start out with trappings as exotic as a personal servitor or a harpoon-launching gun, these portraits certainly show where they could get to with the help of a little experience.

You can see a selection of these characters in the Dark Heresy character art gallery. We will surely be showing off more art from the upcoming Dark Heresy books in coming months, up to the release of the book, so stay tuned to the website for more news.

LATEST RELEASES FROM BLACK INDUSTRIES

OUT NOW – Night’s Dark Masters
COMING SOON – The Tome of Salvation

TOME OF SALVATION
Unfortunately due to some issues printing the book we have had to delay the release of the Tome of Salvation. The book is now out on the 3rd of September. On the plus side there are now a number of previews available for free on the website.

Pat Loboyko has provided high-quality career art for a number of WFRP books and has come up with the goods again for the Tome of Salvation, illustrating the Abbot, Chatechist, Attendant, Monk, Cantor, Pilgrim and Temple Guardian. Have a look at this preview article to see Pat’s art and learn a little about how he went about creating it.

Also we have a downloadable calendar on the BI website for you to use, showing the festivals and dates of the Imperial Year 2522. Find it on our Gaming Aids page.

TALISMAN ADVENTURE ART
During a game of Talisman when you land on one of the squares on the board you are required to take a card from the Adventure Card deck to see what you discover. We knew we needed a fantastic artist to create the images for these cards and Max Bertolini has done a fantastic job. He has sent us a selection of the adventure art he drew for the new edition of Talisman and answered some of our questions about how he came to draw them and what it was like working for Black Industries.

COMING SOON
Another look at the contents of the Tome of Salvation.
More previews from Dark Heresy: The Warhammer 40,000 roleplaying game.
We finally reveal the board art for the new edition of Talisman.
